People who own a swimming pool, before summer approaches us, we should start thinking how to make it a best recreation tool.  It should be made for best refreshment before opening for the summer. So let us discuss few important guidelines for pool safety.

1.       A Qualified adult should supervise children that mean an adult who know swimming well should be there.
2.       Equip a fence with self-locking latch around the pool fencing, never leave it open and avoid lawn furniture, shrubs, trees and other items from the fence.


3.       Prefer non slippery surfaces around the pool at walk ways, ladders and diving.
4.       Maintain appropriate depth that may be 6 feet or less of water, never allow diving and water sliding the pools.
5.       To prevent injuries protrude the surfaces and cover the sharp edges of the swimming pool. Railings and shaky ladders which are broken should be repaired.
6.       Never do or allow roughhousing, thrill seeking stunts, and running around the swimming pool fencing. That may be pulling people into the pool, dangerous diving performance, try to observe whether other swimmers are away or not while you diving.
7.       Try to keep electrical devices away from the swimming pool so that you can avoid electrical shocks. Check all the wiring of the pool has been installed in a professional manner and even lighting circuits inside the pool.
8.       Safety codes and Local ordinances must be familiar to you.
9.       Try to arrange rails and ladders around the pools and they must be child friendly. Those should be removable and lockable when not in use.

10.   You should maintain your pool in such a way that everyone can use it. Children less than 4 years should not learn developmental swimming.
11.   Make rules and guidelines and make sure that every swimmer remembers them so that they are safe guarding them and others as well
12.   First aid equipment should be kept near the pool and everyone’s reach
13.   Children should be given tutorials about what to do in case of emergencies and watch each other.
14.   Keep the premises around the pool clean and toys should be taken away so that they would not attract toddlers to play near it.
15.   Make CPR training mandatory for all adults and teenagers.
16.   While purchasing swimming aids avoid buying inflatable aids
17.   When toddlers are in floating device keep them within arms length.
18.   Automatic pool covers need to be installed for extra safety for the swimmers.
19.   Pool alarms should be installed so that they will alert children go near a pool
20.   Suction valve release systems should be installed so that would safe guard during draining of the pools
21.   Pool should be maintained properly using the right amounts of chemicals so that water in the pool is clean for the swimmers.
22.   When planning to play in the pool avoid Drugs and Alcohol
23.   During thunder storms keep away from pools
24.   Time is always critical if your child is missing look in the poo fencing l first and take necessary actions to find him as soon as possible.
